Claire Oakley is a BAFTA-nominated writer and director. She currently working on a second season of Under Salt Marsh, a 6-part original crime series for Sky which she created, wrote, directed and exec produced. Season 1 starred Kelly Reilly (Yellowstone), Rafe Spall (Trying) and Jonathan Pryce (The Crown) and is Sky's biggest original drama since Day of the Jackal in 2024. Claire received a BAFTA Cymru nomination for the writing. 

 

Claire's debut feature Make Up, stars BAFTA-winner Molly Windsor, BIFA-winner Joseph Quinn and Stefanie Martini. It was produced by the BFI, Creative England, BBC Films and Quiddity Films and was released by Curzon Artificial Eye in 2020 to critical acclaim.

 

Claire has also directed three episodes of J Blakeson's Disney+ thriller Culprits, and made five award-winning short films. She made her way into the industry writing script coverage and in 2017 she co-founded Cinesisters, a peer-to-peer mentoring group for female directors which has over 200 members. In 2019 she was named a Screen Star of Tomorrow.
